We hadn't planned to shop that day at first, but the moment we stepped into Siam Mall, we couldn’t resist the mix of Spanish brands, international favorites, and colorful little shops. And when our shopping bags started piling up, the rooftop restaurants and sunset views were the perfect excuse to take a well-earned break.

Bananas Out, Shopping In: An Afternoon at Siam Mall
We stood in the parking lot outside Monkey Park, still buzzing from feeding parrots and having monkeys climb onto our shoulders. The sun was still high, and it felt like the day didn’t want to end just yet. That’s when the idea popped up: Why not check out Siam Mall? We’d heard about it, and since it was just around the corner, it seemed like the perfect way to stretch the adventure a little longer.
So, without overthinking it, we waved down a taxi. A short ride later, the city opened up in front of us, and suddenly we were standing at the grand entrance of Siam Mall, ready to swap monkeys and bananas for shops and ice cream.
Welcome to Siam Mall – two floors of temptation ahead

Now back to our adventure again...
From Burger Dreams to Taco Reality
After a few hours monkeying around at Monkey Park (literally), our stomachs made it very clear that the next mission of the day was food.
Golden Thai guardian at Siam Mall
As soon as you step inside Siam Mall, you’re reminded that this isn’t your average shopping center. Right at the foot of the escalators stands a golden Thai guardian, hands pressed together in a traditional greeting, as if welcoming you into this temple of shopping and food.
We figured the smartest move was to head straight up the escalators and begin our quest for food. After all, shopping on an empty stomach is a dangerous game!
Searching for food - Siam Mall
We rode up the escalators, and right to the left it looked like there were plenty of lunch-friendly restaurants waiting for us. Almost immediately, we spotted “Lou’s Food Republic”, its neon sign glowing brightly. Right next door was Pizzeria Mythos, promising that irresistible wood-fired aroma, and just a few steps further we found Tony Roma’s, with its ribs, seafood, and steaks boldly calling out to hungry visitors.
Could this be the spot we were looking for?
We probably should have wandered around a bit more and discovered a few more of the restaurants up here, but our stomachs had other plans. Hunger was calling the shots now, and it was clearly saying: find something fast and good enough.
We walked just a little further and came across a big, shiny menu board placed right between the restaurants. Everything on it looked tempting – ribs, steaks, seafood, and some seriously good-looking burgers. In our heads we were already halfway into our order, convinced we’d found the perfect spot.
Nice food menu
But here’s the funny part. Somehow, and don’t ask us how, we ended up walking into the place next door. Instead of Tony Roma’s Ribs, Seafood & Steaks (the actual menu we’d just been drooling over), we wandered straight into Lou’s Food Republic.
To be fair, Lou’s looked pretty cool at first glance – glowing neon signs, a playful diner vibe, and seats built out of the backs of classic American cars. It was definitely Instagram-friendly. Or what do you think?
Dining, Route 66 style
When we finally reached the counter, reality hit us: there were no juicy burgers or sizzling steaks to be found. Instead, the menu was filled with tacos and other much simpler dishes. Not quite what we had imagined when drooling over that big menu board outside.
But hunger is a powerful decision-maker. And honestly, with the flashy neon lights and those quirky car-seat booths, the place still looked fun enough. So we shrugged, went with it, and each ordered a dish anyway. Sometimes you just have to feed the belly and hope for the best.
The only problem? The food didn’t quite live up to the décor. Let’s just say the cars were flashier than the flavors.
After a while after our order we were able to pick up our food.
Colorful First Impressions
This was what finally landed on our table at Lou’s Food Republic – two bowls that looked colorful and promising at first glance. One packed with diced salmon, cherry tomatoes, and a dollop of guacamole, the other topped with crispy fried chicken, guac, and more tomatoes.
It all came served in paper bowls on a tray lined with “old newspaper” print – a quirky touch that gave off a bit of a street food vibe. The drinks? Standard sodas with plenty of ice to battle the Tenerife heat.
The bowls looked fresh enough, but taste-wise? Let’s just say we probably won’t be coming back here for the food. The neon lights and cool car seats were the real stars – the kitchen, not so much.
We were hungry, so of course we cleaned our plates – no regrets there. But with our bellies full (well, at least not empty anymore), it was finally time to tackle the real mission: shopping. Bags were waiting to be filled, and Siam Mall was ready to test both our willpower and our wallets.
The Hunt for the Perfect Summer Bikini
Erika had been clever and ordered clothes from China well before our trip – cute outfits for evenings out and stylish pieces for the beach. At least, that was the plan. But as the departure day crept closer, the package stubbornly refused to appear. Day after day, no delivery. In the end, she had to board the plane without them.
So by the time we reached Siam Mall, the mission was clear: find some fresh outfits to enjoy during our stay in Tenerife. And honestly, it couldn’t have worked out better – with all the fashion stores lined up, this was the perfect chance to replace some of those missing pieces and start the holiday wardrobe off right.
The first task on our shopping list was to find a bikini for Erika that actually fit the holiday mood. We wandered around a few stores until Erika was drawn straight into Tezenis Underwear.
I tagged along as her self-appointed style advisor, but let’s be honest – this wasn’t exactly my natural habitat. The shop was clearly designed with women in mind, and I don’t think I spotted a single guy browsing while we were in there.
Erika, on the other hand, was in her element. I have to admit, there was a lot to choose from, and Erika quickly gathered a handful of different styles that all looked great. After some back and forth, her eyes kept returning to one piece in particular – a leopard-print bikini. Clearly, this classic animal pattern was having a moment in the Tezenis collection.
There was, of course, the usual debate over sizes and fits, but in the end, this model won. Erika was happy with her choice – and me? Well, I was mostly happy to finally step out of the store. As long as she was satisfied, I was satisfied.

Summer Shopping at Siam Mall: From Bikini to Perfect Pants 🌺
After buying a new bikini at Siam Mall, our shopping mission wasn’t over just yet.
Erika was on the hunt for a pair of light, summery pants that could do it all: chic enough for dinner with a stylish blouse, yet relaxed enough for a casual stroll through town during our Tenerife trip.
We browsed through a few stores and Erika tried on different options here and there, but the winning pair was waiting at Pull&Bear. Dark, airy, and decorated with a subtle floral print, they struck the perfect balance between comfort and elegance. The kind of pants that look just as good with sandals by the beach as they do with heels and jewelry on a night out.

And honestly – they couldn’t have suited her better. A perfect match for both her style and the holiday vibes. 🌴✨
This is what shopping happiness looks like.
A Springfield Stop and Some Holiday Style 🛍️
After Erika’s stylish discovery, it was time for me to try my luck at finding some good bargains of my own.
I was mainly on the lookout for a new pair of swim trunks, since my old ones are more than ready for retirement (yes, they’ve been worn to death, and sometimes you just have to refresh your holiday wardrobe). On top of that, my old summer shorts had also seen better days – so I was hoping to score a pair that would be both comfortable and practical.
We ended up at Springfield, which turned out to be right up my alley. And to make things even better – they had Rebajas (sales), though to be fair, pretty much every store in Tenerife did at the time.
There were plenty of interesting options, and I finally settled on a pair of light blue swim shorts. The waistband is a little on the tight side, so getting into them feels a bit like a workout – but hey, sometimes you sacrifice a little comfort to look good! 😅
Yes, I know a lot of the clothes I wear are blue. But I can’t help it – I just really like the color.
Next, I wanted some fresh summer t-shirts. I first went for a white one with the text “Good Vibes Only” – it felt very much like my style and mindset, and Erika immediately approved. That one was an easy choice.
But I didn’t stop there. Another shirt caught my eye – a navy blue tee with a playful print of martini glasses and the words “Beverage – Popular Best-Known.” It had that perfect holiday spirit, a fun mix of retro and laid-back style, and I could already picture myself wearing it with shorts on warm Tenerife evenings. 🍸🌴

Do they pass the test? Shorts, sun, and good vibes only – that’s my Tenerife dress code. The Beverage tee just makes sure I never miss happy hour. 🌴🍸
And just when I thought my shopping spree was complete, I stumbled upon these – a pair of light blue denim shorts in a super comfortable, stretchy fabric. The kind of shorts that move with you instead of against you (holiday tapas and cocktails included 😅).
Sometimes one good pair of shorts is all you really need
They’ve quickly become a favorite – casual enough for daytime wandering around Tenerife, yet stylish enough to throw on with a nice t-shirt for the evening. Sometimes it’s the simplest finds that make the biggest difference, and these shorts definitely earned their place in my holiday wardrobe.
After a fun shopping round at Siam Mall, I finally walked out with a bag full of summer essentials – and, as you can tell, a big smile to match.
Springfield turned out to be the perfect stop: new swim shorts, comfy tees, and even a pair of stretchy denim shorts that instantly became favorites
The Great Tenerife Top Hunt
The shopping wasn’t over just yet. Before we could call it a day, Erika had one last mission — to find something festive for our nights out in Tenerife. Something stylish, a bit flirty, and definitely island-appropriate.
So off we went again, drifting from one boutique to another. Nothing seemed quite right — too casual, too glittery, too… touristy. Then, finally, Stradivarius at Siam Mall worked its magic, and Erika found the one.
Meanwhile, I was stationed outside, doing what any good travel companion does — waiting patiently and pretending to be deeply fascinated by the mall’s architecture.
After quite a while in the checkout line, she finally stepped out of the store — and judging by the photo, she looked really happy. She’d found it: the white halterneck top that was effortlessly elegant — soft, with a draped neckline, a hint of sheen, and that kind of cut that instantly says ready for a night out.
It struck the perfect balance between classy and carefree — exactly what Tenerife evenings call for.
Sweet Rewards After Shopping
After a full day of exploring Siam Mall — drifting in and out of boutiques, trying on half the island’s fashion, and finally found our the perfect outfits — we agreed on one thing: we absolutely deserved dessert.
That’s when we stumbled upon Amorino, a charming little café tucked inside the mall. The place looked instantly inviting — the scent of waffles and chocolate in the air, soft music in the background, and people happily devouring their gelato roses and crepes. It had that cozy, European café feel that just pulls you in.
There was so much to choose from that it was difficult to order — everything looked delicious, from the perfectly swirled gelato cones to the glossy crêpes and creamy milkshakes. In the end, temptation won (as it always does).
Erika went straight for the crêpes loaded with Nutella — pure chocolate heaven — while we ordered two milkshakes, one strawberry for me and one with coconut milk for Erika, both perfectly chilled and almost too pretty to drink.

Doesn't she look completely relaxed, sun-kissed and smiling, the kind of contentment that only comes after a successful shopping hunt and a good sugar fix. Tenerife days have a way of ending like this — slowly, sweetly, and always with something delicious on the table.
Heading Home
After our sweet break at Amorino, it was time to head back to our lovely apartment by the beach in Los Cristianos. The day had been a full one — starting with playful moments at Monkey Park and ending with an entire afternoon of shopping adventures at Siam Mall.

And with that, our Siam Mall adventure came to an end. It had been one of those days that just flows perfectly — a mix of sunshine, shopping, sweet treats, and plenty of laughter along the way.
Thanks for coming along with us on this little journey through Tenerife’s most colorful shopping spot. It truly was a great day in every way — and as we headed home to Los Cristianos, we couldn’t help but feel that familiar mix of tired feet and happy hearts.
