From Jungle Sips to Truffle Bliss

(Day 1, June 18)

Our first full day in Tenerife turned into a little food adventure. For lunch we grabbed a tasty sandwich and a Coke Zero at Kong by Monkey in Playa de las Américas. Later we swung by Starbucks for an iced matcha latte—exactly the refresh we needed. In the evening we wandered into the center of Playa de las Américas and had dinner at Mamma Mia, where I ordered tagliatelle with mushrooms in a silky black truffle cream sauce. In the evening we stopped at El Faro for dessert – a cozy place located on a rooftop terrace overlooking the bustling pedestrian street below. The evening breeze was strong, and the waiters didn’t seem too happy about the cold either. Still, the dessert was worth it: rich, beautifully presented and a delicious end to a day full of culinary adventures around Tenerife. A delicious start to the trip!

From Mall Adventures to Music-Filled Nights

(Day 2, June 19)

Our second day in Tenerife turned into quite the little adventure. During the day, we explored Siam Mall, a surprisingly elegant shopping center that’s more of an experience than just a place to shop. For lunch, we settled down at Lou’s Food Republic — relaxed, flavorful, and just what we needed after a morning of wandering.

Of course, no outing is complete without something sweet, so we made a stop at Amorino, the famous gelato spot where even the ice cream looks like art. (Those delicate flower-shaped scoops are almost too pretty to eat — almost!)

As evening rolled in, we returned to Playa de las Américas and ended up at Savage, an elegant burger bar that perfectly blends flavor and atmosphere. The burgers were spot-on — grilled to perfection, stacked high, and bursting with flavor — but what really made the night special was the live music. A fantastic troubadour filled the terrace with acoustic tunes, turning dinner into one of those magical evenings you never want to end.

A Night of Fire & Flavor – Midsummer Feast at Vegas Grill

(Day 3, June 20)

While everyone back home was dancing around midsummer poles and feasting on herring, we decided to turn up the heat—Canary Islands style. 🌴🔥

During the day, we kept our meals light so we could really indulge in the evening — enjoying a delicious dinner out and celebrating properly since, after all, it was Midsummer!

We traded flower crowns for palm trees and booked a table at Vegas Grill in the evening, one of Playa de las Américas’ most buzzing dinner spots. The neon lights, palm-framed terrace, and warm evening air promised a night of indulgence—and oh, it delivered. The evening started with cocktails that could make any midsummer spirit jealous. Colorful, icy, and dangerously drinkable, they set the perfect tone for what was to come. Imagine sipping a tangy mojito under a canopy of palms while the night hums around you—pure island magic.

Then came the real showstopper: a perfectly grilled medium-rare steak, served on a wooden board like a masterpiece. On the side — golden roasted potatoes, crisp veggies, and of course, the holy grail of sauces — béarnaise. The meat was so tender it almost melted, and each bite was pure bliss.

In the photo below, you can see Erika as she sets out on the quiet concentration of a diner about to embark on this culinary adventure — knife in hand, eyes on the prize. The glow of neon lights reflects off the glass, the tropical breeze sways the palms outside, and for a moment, it feels like time stands still.

Yes, it was a little pricier than your average tapas night out — but honestly, so worth it. If you’re looking for a special-occasion dinner in Tenerife that hits all the senses — taste, sight, and pure summer feeling — Vegas Grill is your spot.

Because sometimes, midsummer isn’t about bonfires and folk songs. Sometimes, it’s about good steak, great cocktails, and palm trees swaying under the moonlight. 🌙✨

Evening at Savage – Music, Burgers & Gran Reserva 🍔🎶

(Day 4, June 21)

This evening at Savage in Playa de las Américas turned out to be a perfect one. Erika and I had booked a table to enjoy some good food and live music – and we got exactly that, and a bit more.

We went for their second burger on the menu this time – juicy, flavorful, and grilled to perfection. To go with it, we had a cold Gran Reserva, a rich beer that matched the meal beautifully.

As the sun began to set, the atmosphere came alive. Mark Gregory and his singing partner (you can see them in the bottom-right photo) took the stage and delivered an amazing performance – a mix of guitar, vocals, and charm that filled the whole restaurant with energy.

A night of great food, drinks, and live music – pure Savage style in Tenerife. 🌴✨
